Car Safety?

Here where I live theres a law to be buckeled up...my family does not listen...and pluse she put my lil bro in the middle sit...theres actually no middle sit theres just cupholders in the middle....We have a honda element...ayway..what should I do to make my parents understand the safety rules?..everytime I say something my step dad says shut up!!

it's up to them, though generally people are more eager to buckle up once they have flown through their frontwindow

If you're caught without your seat belt here you get fined.. Every time we get in the car my mom insists we put it on.. Not just 'cos of the money issue ofc 😛 Safety first

Just let them do what they want, they'll learn there lesson. I didn't always wear a seatbelt but it only takes one wreck to change your mind.

If i wasn't wearing a seatbelt last week when I got rear ended...I would have broken my nose and probably brusied or cut up my face on the steering wheel.

Seatbelts save lives, I don't think it's unreasonable to require people to wear them.

Last week my friends parents were driving down the road when some lady talking a her cell phone swerved into the oncoming lane..My friends parents weren't wearing their seat belts cause they live up north where their isn't much traffic, they should of though cause the woman on the cell caused an accident and my friends mother was killed instantly and the father broke his collar bone. The funeral was last weekend...It's illegal here to not wear a seat belt.

Just keep yourself and your mom buckled up.. if your stepdad enjoys a 1 way ticket through the windshield.. just get some popcorn and watch 🙂

What is this so called Car Safety? My car falls apart going down the road and a couple of my buckles don't work. 😄

your parents are not just putting their lives at risk, and not just your brother's, but yours as well, even if you are wearing your seatbelt. in many accidents, the driver is thrown out of their seat and thus

-become a lethal projectile

and

-are no longer at the wheel, so if there WAS a chance for the driver to maneuver at all, forget about it.

sorry to hear that they are so inconsiderate. might i recommend a series of guilt trips?

Call the cop-shop and tell them your concerns, then tell them the make, model, colour of car and the license plate # of your step dad and when he comes home from work.

Chances are if they are a community oriented department they'll put your step dad in his place and no one will know that you ratted on him.

Better a small fine that takin' a header through the windshield.

In Britain here, it's illegal not to wear your seatbelt.

In fact, it's just unthinkable here that you'd drive along or be a passenger and NOT wear it, lol. It's just a way of life.

And like people have said, it's better to get whiplash in a crash than to go flying out your windscreen.

Then again, I mostly drive down the dual-carriageway on my way to work and back, and a seatbelt does bugger all if you crash at 85 lol.
