Actually I started when I was 11,😬 and I skipped a belt level because my teacher said I was ahead of my belt level. But normal it takes about 3 years to get a black belt in a lot of styles. But since I skipped a belt it only took me 2 and a half.

There's no way you're a black belt at your age. 🤨 I will admit that it is possible for a 13 yr old to be a black belt because my friend Jake was made a black belt when he was 13, BUT he had been doing it since he was 7. 😬
It's just not possible for someone to start at 11 and then become a black belt at 13. 🤨

Don't ask me why they gave me a black belt when I had only been in it 2 years. But some schools train longer then others, or they could just have more belts. The school I go to tests us ever 3 mouths, until you get a black belt, after that it could take 2 years before you test again.
Here's how the belt system works... First there's white belt DUH! After 3 mouths IF you are ready to test they will test you. Then you go up to yellow belt. Next is Orange belt. After that is green, then blue, red, one strip red, two strip red... Then Black belt. So If you add 3 mouths to each belt you'll get about 2 years.
