From experience, when I have met people who openly dislike poetry, they often come to the same conclusion when asked why; generally because they see poets (stereotyped) as false and unrealistic, floating along in their hazy bubbles. I am inclined to disagree if only because I myself (try to) write poetry and I'm pretty grounded, no pink candy floss clouds surrounding my cranium 🙄

Me too ✅ I tend to find it easier to write when I have something I'm emotionally involved in, be it love, hate, anything that causes my feelings to roller-coaster... if life's boring, my poetry's kinda flat 😬
