Pre crisis DS is still nothing to galactus and thanos holds his own against him. Thanos has bested kosmos who is the beyonder and molecule man combined. Its not simply an issue of power thanos is just too cunning, intelligent and well versed in fighting more powerful opponents.
PC Darkseid is nothing to Galactus?Then what exactly happened in their crossover battle? Darkseid surely didn't lose although he did not win either, it was more of a stalemate which proves that Darkseid can hold his own against Galactus based on his power and resources alone. Thanos on the other hand can only beat Galactus when he taps into a greater power source (IG, HOTU, etc.) Yes Thanos is impressive and he is indeed cunning and intelligent and capable of defeating opponents far more powerful than him but Darkseid is not a pushover by any means. PC Darkseid too has a great list of accomplishments, going toe to the toe with the spectre, owning Mordru like a red-headed stepchild, tapping into the ALE, constantly defeating hordes of DC superheroes, defeating entire pantheons of Gods and stealing their powers, among other things. Seriously though this battle can go either way, Thanos fans tend to be biased against Darkseid and vice versa but in all honesty and fairness I think the rivalry between these days can truly be written in an epic war. I will give Thanos an upper hand though since THOTU is greater than any version of Darkseid.
In the crossover darkseid had nothing in his arsenal that could make galactus flinch even. His higly acclaimed omega blasts had nil effect on galactus. Galactus never properly fought Ds at any point in that. Thanos under his own power has engaged galactus in battle and held his own. He never won by any means because he couldnt but he put on a much better show than DS did. Thanos has also achieved far greater feats than pre-crisis DS. Plus in The End who is victorious?
