.hack//sign started off slow for me but I kept on it and when it got to when Tsukasa was captured, it started going easy for me. Then when the ending came, it sort of made me cried, with the violin music playing and all, then I got the limited edition vol. 6, watched the extra episodes and I liked them, especially the one with Kite, Balmung, Orca, you know, the game characters in it. Yeah, after seeing that, ^^ I gave .hack//sign a 9/10.
Also, .hack//Legend of the Twilight Bracelet, I enjoyed it, but short, still, cool, but ending was a little strange, but they did save The World together. I gave it an 8/10.

I would still play it, I'm already addicted to the Anime. And if a twilight incident did happen i'd want to be a part of it.
About a life in the real world, i would say Yes, because you would need money for the computer and internet and equipment to play so therefore you need to have a life outside the actual game.
