Ignore lists

In another thread the subject of ignore lists came up and someone made a good point. How do some people reads threads and make any sense of them when they have very large ignore lists.

One member here has a list of 23 KMC members on their ignore list and more than half of those members (including me) are very frequent contributors or participants in this forum.

I could understand having one or two people who are disruptive or offensive on a list, but 23?! I mean if you are just putting so many people on that list because you don't like what they have to say, why even come here? And does sticking your head in the sand make things better?

I was just curious as to how many other people have someone on their ignore list, or how many they have on their ignore list, or even why?

Ive never bothered with ignore lists, i agree with kharmaDog, it makes the threads harder to follow.....

Being on someone's ignore list has to be the best thing ever.

To be on their list you've probably done something to annoy them. When you're ignored, your posts just show up as a hyperlink that person would need to click on in order to read your posts.

In almost every case I'm guessing the ignorer clicks on the hyperlink to read the post just to know what's being said in the thread...so basically instead of ignoring them, they've just gone out of your way to read their post in particular.

I have nobody on my ignore list. It would take a lot of constant BS from someone to get on mine.

at the moment there is no one there 😬
and i agree it makes reading threads totally annoying

I guess sometimes if the person is persistant to slander you in every thread you choose to participate in, ignore is a nice choice to have

I havent had to use it though.. 😉

I wouldn't dare have anyone on an ignore list.... I have few enough friends already....

i dont bother with ignore lists..or buddy lists

I have...4 people, I think...they're all people who've been banned, though, I just never got around to removing them.

KharmaDog, having someone on yuor ignore list stops them from sending you PMs, so that could be a reason.

I dont have anyone on my ignore...and noone can ignore me, so thats all good 🪩

erm.... as far as i noticed... it is not stoping anyone from sending you PMs. it is just making them invisible in you inbox.
and after getting calmer you can read those PMs 😊
