Then maybe you should start learning to type properly again because once you get to high school and college, papers will have to be typed.

Hell, none of my teachers have accepted a handwritten paper since I was 13 and in 7th grade.

You know, I had a friend who would use "type talk" even when handwriting school assignments. Needless to say, he failed. As long as you don't do that, you go up a notch in respect.

Do like I do, do not hold the 1 key when holding shift. Just gently press the 1 key however many times you desire. If you make a mistake by letting go of shift too early, use the Backspace key.

It's not rocket science to quickly look over what you have typed and check for errors.

yes thats a habit of msn as u just have to press enter if ur on it for a long time you usually (or i do ) press enter automatically and as i have not learnt to touch type i cant really see what im entering and if i make a big mistake i have to use ******to correct myself

the ! ! ! way is way to slow like if ur in a heated argument and you need to do a comeback you only have a limted amount of time and for slow typers of like myself dotn have time to spell check (sos this this sounded sarky) 😄

engalnd does and stop being mean 🙁

I'm not being mean, I'm stating a fact.

Maybe it's because I didn't have the internet until I was nearly 14 and by then had learned to type properly that I never use 'text talk' and cannot stand it.

TTYL=Talk to you later 😄

it does happen in Engalnd untill you get to GCSE level...even then two pieces have to be handwritten to show you can do it..

Wow...here in the US nearly everything in high school and everything at college must be typed.

Personally, I like it better -- I type faster than I can handwrite, I can check my spelling and grammar for errors much quicker, I'll always have a backup copy, and it makes the teacher's job much easier when they're grading (I have horrid handwriting).

i meant that they accepot handwritten work...well they actually encourage it

It is much better to learn to type proper, or at least use full words, people understand better.

yeah it is easier, it's just in an exam you need to be able to write coherently with the proper spelling and grammer, so it's like practise for that..

Oh, yeah, for exams that's a given, it'll have to be handwritten unless it's a computer course. But just about everything else (like papers, lab writeups, etc.) have to be typed.

by the way "Fionuala " is your signature really long or is it just a quote ?
i mean as it has a hyperlink

The link is a link to her signature thread, I'm sure she placed it there intentionally.
