Nationalism- Whats the deal?

Why do people care what country they are from?

Your country doesnt make you a better person or smarter, hell, your government couldnt care less about you.

So, why do we get angry when someone bashes our country(Canada and America are by far the worst bashers).

Right now im arguing about american superiority even tho I dont actually believe we are, I just couldnt stand someone bash the U.S.A without sticking up for it.

i don't give the feck about our gov, actually i wouldn't mind them all starving on some lonely island.
but i DO care about our traditions and ppl. and it is what the deal is about.

I dont care which country im from, im english but its not like i chose to be born there, so i dont say im "proud" of it.

people can bash england all they want, i wont be standing up for it anytime soon.

thats just my opinion though.

Same here, to me, our government is against us. But they less against us than they are against everyone else.

I think its the new "cool thing to do" in canada and UK to hate us, when in all truth they like us.

Or they hate us because we couldnt care less about anyone else except ourselves.

I wish someone from another country could talk about this without going on a rant on how "bush iz teh devil..!" bullshit.
