That's completely out of character for Superman.
He is trying to kill in Comics Vs. What exactly would be in character for Superman killing someone like Magneto? Using 1% of his strength behind his blows so he doesn't knock his head off?
I'm sick of this out of character shit. In character, Superman wouldn't even kill Magneto even if he was bad so thats just stupid. In this topic, Superman knows he is going to kill him, theres no testing the waters, no chance of settling a truce, so why the hell would he hold back?
CIS deals with intelligence not morals or method of execution.

Answer the question - how would an "in-character" Superman kill Magneto?
Since you tried to paint me as being "sick of the rules" please point out the so-called "in-character" rule. And lol, no he doesn't kill when "I tell him to kill", he will kill because its the very nature of this topic.

Supes wouldn't kill in owaw and a lot more was at stake there than is here. If Superman is out to kill the moment the bell rings then it's not Superman unless you put something else in the thread to change his attitude.

So you are violating the full-capacity rule? You know he would have to limit his strength and speed many fold to not kill Magneto?
Sorry, this is not a "what would Superman do" in a comic fight. All fights are about defeating the opponent by whatever means necessary.
Vs itself implies the character in question is actually trying to win.
Originally posted by PlacidityYes, actually it is if you paid attention to how things are done here. Superman doesn't mistakenly kill foes he faces because he doesn't kill. Only sparingly it seems.

Superman rips his head off.How this got to page 49 is beyond me. Maybe Magneto needs to be considered as a high herald now.
Battlewise, they're both mid heralds in my opinion. Overall powerwise they're not even that.
Magneto can certainly kill SM, but that doesn't automatically mean he'd take a majority. If magneto starts with shields down and SM blitzes immediatelly, he has no chance in hell. If he starts with the shields up, he has some good chances of withstanding the pounding long enough to put SM down. At some point the shields will break, but IIRC it's never actually happened in comics, so it's very hard to gauge how long it would take SM to do it.
Neither one needs to kill the other to win though, not matter how cool that sounds, they can both incapacitated or koed.

CIS is on here, Supes wont kill on KMC by default, Yes....he is going all out though but he wont kill because its not in his character just to off someone.
How can someone be going all out if they are holding back considerably? Its contradictory.
Its like little kids doing pretend fighting taking care not to actually hurt his buddy.

Its Supes character to not kill.
Examples:
Thor knows he can't out-brawl Hulk, so uses exotic powers sooner than he would against the likes of Superman, as Superman is an unknown to him.
Superman would go all out against Doomsday or Despero because he knows how powerful they are. Against the Hulk, he's going to take a few punches before realising he'll have to use something rather than slugging it out. He won't bathe the street in heat vision either, because there are civilians nearby.
It ALL comes down to the CHARACTER, not the POWERSET.

He can still ko his enemies with minimum necessary force, which is what his personality dictates
Magneto is one of the most ideal characters to face Superman based on his power set in my opinion. With his force field up Clark's physical advantages and attacks are useless. And with his energy manipulation he would wreck hell with Superman's internal energy reserves. Look at what beings with the ability to manipulate the electromagnetic spectrum have done to Superman and current Magneto just wrecked Proteus by using his abilities to manipulate energy.
And to answer Placidity's question yes Magneto is a High Herald. Not in the elite level (That's reserved for beings like Thor or Norrin in my opinion.) but still pretty up there.
