Well, no, not technically. People usually do it for that reason though. You can have a sock and not bash, but most people who DO sock, tend to be doing it for the wrong reasons. Other boards call them trolls, which is duplicitous, in that they are usually ugly characters and they are trolling for trouble.

It's simply not allowed to create a second account, it's against the rules to do so -- for ANY reason. If you want to change your username you can request to do so in the News and Questions forum, but making a new account will just get you banned, regardless of whether it was made to bash or not. Unless it's a situation like Fi's where she sorted it with Raz.
