Vader....after the helmet...

I'm not 100% sure if this should be here, move it if it shouldn't. but my friend, not me just had a VERY good point.

when obi wan gives luke to owen, you'd think that would be a bad idea.

remember vaders mother s buried outside the homestead where luke is. wouldn't you think that vader would go back there to see her grave?

and if so wouldn't the lars family notice...lol

and wouldn't vader be like humm...whos this kid...

it seems weird...cause you'd think vader would go back, unless he doesn't want to face his past at all.

Actually it is not a plot hole. Anakin never wants to go back to Tattotine of the painful memory of his mother dying and being buired there, also the fact taht he was a slave and he has some painful memories. That is why Luke is taken to Tattotine, because they know that Vader would never go back there.

Vader has a thing about Tatooine..he doesn't go down, despite the importance of finding the death star plans, while having no problem dropping into a battle zone on Hoth.
I think the whole not wanting to face the past is pretty accurate...nothing but bad memories of who he was "before the helmet".

He don't care anymore about silly memories of a mother who dies on tatooine or wherever. He don't have a mother, or a wife, or nuzzin!! He, at last, learned how to end with all attachments. He is a f**kin sith lord, he stops at no one, show no mercy, do not hesitate... He rule the galaxy... who cares about a sandy world with old stones?

I hope vader becomes DARTH VADER, the one we know from OT. I don't like a weak "in love" vader... 🙁 AND I DON'T LIKE A VADER CRYING ON MUSTAFAR!!! 🙁

It just occurred to me that what in the hell is the Lars motivation for taking in Luke???

Now THAT makes sense!!!!!! Plus, he's probably thinking that if Darth DOES show up on Tattooine, he wants someone else to be the welcoming commitee....gives him time to sober up before having the kid drive him to a bar.....

it may be a plothole, but luke has to end up back there anyways...its not like Lucas's lame excuse as to why the droids or Obi Wan didn't remember anything.

Obi-Wan decided to take Luke to Tatooine, because he knew that that was the one place Vader would never willingly return too.

Good point. I always wondered why he left it to the stormtroopers and headed back to the Death Star with Leia. I guess we'll never know.

I think his bad memories are enough to keep him away. I mean, come on, if you lost the only person you held dear to you before you became a Jedi and then watched her die because you weren't quick enough (and then went on a lovely killing spree! 😄 ), would you want to go back?

i dunno, but i think that vader has a soft side in a way (lol i know, i know) but i could see him in the same position on his knees infront of the headstone....to him hes failed completly, he lost his mother, he lost his love...and he promised his mom he wouldent fail next time. i think its plausable that he would go back, as a kinda "thing to talk to" as i doubt palpatine wants to hear about it 😛
