Terminator TV Series Animated/Live-Action

Perhaps an animated television series could have a blend of CGI in it as well just as the Spider-Man animated series that ran on MTV a short time ago.

I would check it out, but I don't think people would do it well. They'd make it so oddly based on the future that it would blow.

So true, I'm reminded of such incarnations as "X-Men: Evolution" and the new series "The Batman" which were both done horribly. The only way it could truly be done well and faithfully is if what was under the direct influence or supervision of someone like James Cameron or Pixar. Or perhaps any other person or company similar to those.

^while i am a big fan of terminator films by james cameron, i have never liked dark angel. i sometimes cant beleive that someone with the caliber of james cameron has created the show

Very valid point there, I still can't belive that James was even involved with something like that.

Although an animated series would be minus the bad actors and special effects. A live-action series would probably be in danger of being a terrible incarnation, but it could perhaps follow the steps of the upcoming Star Wars live-action series which involves Lucas. When it comes down to choosing an animated series or live-action series I suppose you just have to think about pros and cons of each option.

Also a television series would be a fanatastic way to further extend the universe and franchise of the Terminator after a T4 or (doubtfully) T5.

I would go for Animated, its much safer and less prone to screwups.

However I can see it becoming a satruday morning kids cartoon rather than a serious anime flick.

Very true, I would go for something that resembles the Justice League as far as the animation and overall tone goes.

Yeah that would be cool, hopefully an introduction of newer characters and terminators, without making it too cheesy.

Don't wanna see a 'hulk' terminator for example.

Exactly, maybe an introduction of designs and Teminators that were featured in the video games with a few never before seen designs and Terminator models as well. Just imagine a 30 minute or 1 hour battle of the war of the machines each week.

Another important factor in a project like this would the voice talent. I'm not sure which role he would play, but I think Mark Hamil could fit in somewhere.

it wouldnt do well. it would be in the ranks with any other short lived late night sci fi channel show. at best, i could see a mini-series made. like a 3 part one.

Perhaps like you mentioned a mini-series, like Battlestar Galactica only it would have but a few parts and the quality would be much better.

If they ever made a show, I would want it to focus on John Connor and Kyle Reese as the two main characters. Stupidly, I know it wouldn't. Shows like that have a tendency to put retarded new people as the lead characters. We'd end up having a show about some guy named like Tito Mendoza who wears sunglasses and listens to hip hop, fighting off the terminators. Or they'd do a team with him, some "righteous chick", some guy who is a dick but is true down to the heart, etc. I can't stand it when shows do that. If they make ANY incarnation of a TV show, it has to be about Kyle and John.

You're perfectly right, at best the will probably commercialise the whole thing.

I'm still rooting for animation, but not something you'd see on saturday morning.. a decent, serious anime of the future wars or something.

I agree rulz, it should be a cartoon series similar to that of the current 'Clone Wars' on Cartoon Network where we are brought in directly into the middle of the war. Naturally though the thing that would definitely have to be much different is the animation.

Very true, they tend to stray away from the original characters that make the material with any series that might be similar to this. Then they usually go for something that they believe to be what the "people really want" instead.

I'd love to see a Terminator animated series, set in the future during the war.

Not sure who the writer(s) would be, but the team behind something like 24 would be cool. Imagine that. Whether animated or live action.

Well I think if you had a Animated version, the characters would look more like the original people who played them. Because Arnold and Linda wound be in the TV series or the boy who player john conner in the 2nd movie.
