hopefully some day all these women-titles will be reduced to one. seems a bit unfair that you at all time is informed on the woman's status, but not the man's. would save some time and effort too.

basically that a woman's title changes when she gets married. a man's doesn't. in that way, you're constantly reminded of that woman's status, or, in case you don't know it, you'll have to think fast when meeting her (ms? or mrs?) that's when some women get a little insulted; when they're mistaken for a married woman (who's usually older than an unmarried one) when they're actually not, or mistaken for a married woman, when they're actually divorced. men are just men. their personal lives, whether they're married or not, is just not relevant to us and are kept personal.
