USH'S LORD OF THE RINGS GAME PART 3- The Tournament and the Traitor

Anglomir is going to go outside to see if he can follow the sound of footsteps to find the Witch.

Do you have any form of tracking ability?

Nooo... according to the Honour Roll, the only (kind of) active player that has any Tracking skill is our resident fool of a Took.

Not many Rangers in the group, eh?

Tricky then- you'll have to work which way to go via deduction.

Can't really think of much to stop him other than yelling for the gate to be closed and to continue chasing after, trying to cut off his path and forcing him to slow down. Doubt using my bow to shoot him (and hopefully knock him off without killing him) would be really possible at this speed.

Well, there were those retreating footsteps. Can Anglomir still hear them?

Nope.

-

You could try a shot, Ellothiel, but not a fancy non-lethal one. It might well kill him if it hits.

"my lord! Are you hurt?" menelacar says to the awakening Prince.

Ergh. I can't think of any other options. Have to go for that I suppose...

Anglomir is sure she's probably gone for the stables herself. He'll go to look there.

Well, then you will bump into the others still there- and she hasn't come this way...

-

Ellothiel- what this shot WILL cost you is a decent Ride roll; if you miss he'll put considerable distance between you.

-

He seems woozy, Menelacar, and does not respond.

"Come with me my lord," Menelacar says as he puts him around his shoulder and ushers him out of the room, the inn and to the others outside.

Argh.

Try it I suppose!

Well, this is just how the dice go sometimes, as Ellothiel just shot the guy through the neck.

-

And that just about wraps things up. Whilst you Elves and Dwarves were not able to identify your assailants, some of the rest of you will- Dunlendings. The throwing axes are a trait of the hillmen.

But of Rhavorniel, there is no sign...

We're about ready to wrap things up. But before we do... can anyone explain what has actually been going on?

The prince was the traitor as he had been enchanted by the witch who, along with the Dunlendings, was working for the Witch King?

Indeed, though 'traitor' is an unfair term.

How has the information been reaching Angmar?

Via the Dunlendings? Or perhaps magical means similar to the palantir?

The magical means is what everyone keeps fearing- that the Witch King knows all with his mystical, dark powers.

But if that was the case he wouldn't need the spies?

Which is actually good news, as unfortunate as this is. This means that the Witch King is not all-seeing and that he needs spies to physically plant themselves in Fornost.
