Haven't heard too much of The Clash but i love London Calling.
Is the song that goes "Should i stay/or should i go now?" by them? If so-great song!

I have never liked the Clash. I find them to be boring and unimaginative. However, I love punk, and I respect what they did for the movement.

They did not bring punk to the mainstream. The songs they play on mainstream radio are not considered punk. The Ramones brought punk to the mainstream, as did the Sex Pistols, The Cramps, The Stooges, etc. There is no one band responsible for it. The Clash certainly helped, but they weren't alone.
