General Grievous v.s. Darth Maul

Also the OT is glorified. Its been talked about for a long time, even before the PT started. It was famous and legendaric a long time ago already, a lot of people grew up with that. They are going to think that Legend is better then the more modern thing even though it sucks compared to it...

Okay so the OT doesn't suck compared to the PT it still has it flaws though, something people don't like seeing and ignore easier

Ewan McGregor is one of the things that saves these movies to me. What are you talking about?

Liam Neeson is amazing as well.

Yes they are both great. Liam Neeson seems to uptight though, as was McGregor. probably the nostalga.

But after TMP, McGregor got into the role and relaxed. But it's only a shade of his talent. Have you seen Trainspotting? If only Obi-Wan had a heroin overdose . . .

Liam Neeson is one of the best actors in any SW movie. IMHO

Trainspotting is a great film BTW

Look, the OT has more heart and better characters, while the PT is a technically better film. It looks better sounds better, and the story, ignoring jar jar and anakin and padmes' awful love scenes is argueably better. The way Sidious gets himself into office, then gets the clone wars rolling, then becomes Emperor is brilliant.

Yeah, h's good. But again could have been better. That is a problem with Lucas. He's such a depressing guy that he just bores the actors to death. And that cannot be helpful when Liam Neeson happens to be speaking to a tennis ball on a stick in front of blue screen.

Don't worry, Ian Mcdiarmid will rock the house down

Liam and Ewan are the things that save the PT for me, along with Ian and Mace, even though Mace lacks an accent.

But Mace has a purple lightsaber. Which is nothing that amazing, but still fricken sweet.

There was a thread earlier about does Han Solo fit in Star Wars, but I don't actually think Mace does. I really like him and he is one of the better parts of the PT, but he seems out of place.

Thats because he's played by an expensive actor but isn't incredibly important in the movies... At least not important enough

Sure he is, his role in the 3rd one is crucial. Mace's distrust of Anakin makes it easier for Anakin to slice him and let Palpatine finish him off.

He's important for the story but not for the movie.. His part isn't that big...

Its like a movie where hmm Brad pitt walks past somebody steals the wallet and runs, you don't see him for the rest of the movie but the guy who's wallet gets stolen does fall in love with a girl because of it and a war starts or something...

Brad pitt caused it to happen so he's important for the story's, he's not really important for the movie though.. It would be weird to see something like this, okay so maybe thats even worse then in SW.. But I'm simply saying that especially in TPM you expect more from Mace, even AOTC doesn't do justice to Mace. Making him seem weird...

I agree with you but maybe there would just be too many heroes, even for star wars . . .

OMG. Your right! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

...i thought this was a vs thread 🙂 mauls nice and all but hes inexperianced and id like to think that grevious HAS to know all the forms of lightsabre wielding (HES A FRICKEN CYBORG. can u say "download"😉 but even if he cant 4 lightsabers and a GOD speed and agility, maul cant handle f for more than a min

good point.

If this is TCW Maul it could go either way. Grievous is a superior duelist(compare Grevious's saber performances with superior versions of Kenobi to Maul's performances with inferior ones) and sports a significant speed and massive strength advantage(overloading ROTS Kenobi's defenses, denting ships, ect.)

Maul has the force though, and given that the less powerful TCW Kenobi has used this to beat Grievous, Maul certainly could. It would have to be more than a push though, given Grevious has tanked both Maul, and more impressively Mace's, force pushes in addition to massive falls.
