House by the Cemetary

Just got a chance to watch this last night. Fulci had some gorey scenes in this one for sure.

Spoiler:
slicing this cute girls throat up decapitating her , a guys throat gets ripped out, lady gets stabled all in the torso and then finally in the neck where they had some PSI on the blood squirting out... gorehounds would love this film. Over all the movie was suspenseful... the creature from the basement would do nothing but fade everyone in his path.

Couple questions i have that were kind of unanswered. I never figured out the role of the babysitter. who was she ? why was she trying to let the monster out in the beginning and then the monster ends up fading her... didnt make a lot of sense.

also ... for hell raiser fans.. (that includes Cinemaaa i know its his fav) if you have watched this movie .. in the end the monster ends up being the old man that lived/owned the house there that did experiments. and he was said to need to drink/devour fresh blood/flesh from people to make himself normal again .... sounds a lot like the ghouls from hellraiser... so you think clive ripped this idea off or you think it really wasnt that much similar?? ?? the first thing i thought when it was revealed in the plot was hellraiser sooo .. just asking what others thought.. btw his little baby hand looked freaky as hell haha .. kind of reminded me of scary movie 2

Core plot 6.5
Gore 9.0
Acting 6.0
Movie Overall 7.0

I agree This is one of the better banned video nasties.Good Zombie in the basement

yeh this is really good..tons of gore...the little kid annoys me though lol

yeah, its good when the kid gets attacked by the bird

It's alright. I'd probably rate it 4th or 5th among Fulci films. Everything plays second fiddle to the gore. I think the best part of the whole film was the maggot zombie. No blood, he just oozed live maggots. THAT'S dope.

It's possible that Clive's inspiration for Frank's regeneration was found in Fulci. They seem to share a penchant for gore. But then again, that same mythos has been handed downn from vampire movies for years and years.

It was pretty good, some good gore, nothign to shit your pants over, though.

I recently bought a dvd copy of House by the Cemetary. But is not from Archor Bay. This copy says is uncut (87mins) and is a region 0. But anyways this is also another great Fulci film. The gore factor is fairly good.
