You are right in the sense that we can't know who is sharing a computer. But usually a sock will be found out only after they have done something wrong. We don't run sock checks unless they are acting erratic.

i think they're just trying to keep order so this turn into a huge free-for-all...when you joined the forum you knew the rules and accepted them by joining..so if you or your 'friend' break them then you have to expect to be punished 😬

Because 9 times out of 10 the person defending a banned user is also a sock.

The fact is...Clovie only had a temporary ban, her's wasn't permanent. She is confessing being banned once before, not confessing socking.

Having 4 socks come up in a sock check is obviously suspicious.

But as you can see, you haven't been banned yet. When we decide to ban someone they are banned immediately. We don't continue to let them post.

even if people don't actually break the rules.

Personally i think they're more than fair, they've not banned you yet for continually slagging them off. Plus having four accounts from the one IP address, i would say is blatantly socking.
