Star wars should beat titanic any day but the fact is people who dont even like romance films liked titanic and star was is god only to us fan.
This film will def. own but its never getting close to titianic especially since its like the middle of the saga which means if they didnt see 1 or 4 they arent coming for 3

Here is a list of US movies adjusted for inflation!

Yeah it should have been R, I went to see it when I was I guess 12(came ou in 97 right?), boy was I pleasantly suprised.

interesting...I'm still trying to find one for ALL TIME that takes into account inflation. Some good movies (and not so good movies) on that list!

Everybody help me do the Beverly Hills Cop theme! You know you love it...

been a fan of her work ever since as well I see....

Since this one will finally answer 28 year old questions, I believe this one will make a lot more money than TPM and AOTC. I would love to see it beat Titanic.

They should just count ticket sale numbers and dvd /vhs sale numbers, not the actual money soemthing makes...
that way you really know how well something goes.

that's not a bad idea.

All you closet Titanic fans crack me up...

"I hate it", "It was stupid"

I can honestly say the most ive seen is in trailers and small clips of the movies. If you've seen the whole movie then I cry for you.

Titanic that is

I heard a report that ROTS will cost the U.S. economy $600M in productivity on Thursday (or Friday)...probably due to all the people taking a day off or coming in late the morning after.

It'd be really funny if this movie grosses that much.

Zero sum game.

Will ROTS destroy Titanic for all-time #1

nope

Some Stardestroyer should take the Titanic by the balls.
Remake; Titanic meets Stardestroyer!

Stupid Ice-Mountain...............all because of you........... 😠 !

I will be only working until 10:00 am so I am glad to contribute.

I agree with Titanic being a chick flick but personally I love the star wars movies MUCH better than I did Titanic. It would be great and I would LOVE to see it "sink" the Titanic.

titanic in space, yes lets sink the boat and blow it up with a star destroyer.

This would be 10 times more exciting and less dragged-out than Titanic, too. Hayden Christensen is the new Leonardo DiCaprio for the chicks.

Or an all out saber-duel> Leo vs Hayden......
OMG.....I'm getting too childish again!

actually Gone With the Wind and the Wizard of Oz are with inflation, then ANH. It was on the site I got the list from: Internet Movie Database.

Wizard of Oz? Don't think so. I don't think it even rates, inflation adjusted- IMDB has it making 15 million dollars compared to Gone with the Wind's 200 million, and they were released in the same year. Working on the same rate of inflation adjustment (never a precise business, though) that would only be about 100 million in today's prices- not close.

Gone with the Wind is first and Star Wars second.

Of course, such a list is US only because international release is really only an eighties onwards phenonemon.

Bur anyway... no, this film will not come close to beating Titanic- sorry! Internationally, if it even gets halfway, as Phantom Menace did, that would be an impressive achiement.

ROTS is the most likeley contender to knock out Titanic since "The Return of THe King" wich grossed more than a billion world wide, "The Phantom Menace" did close to a billion and if this film becomes the highest grossing star wars film of all time then it just might be the third movie ever to make a billion, and have a chance of knocking titanic out.
