Battle of the Next-Generation Consoles

Its not Nintendo's last battle.

People think they are in the same position that Sega was. They're not, but they cant compete with the other two based on the fact that they dont have money to throw around. But with its fan base, handhelds and beloved franchises, Nintendo will still be around.

Nintendo has lots of money to throw around. The GBA outsold the PS2 by millions of units. Pokemon is always popular. Mario is always popular. The new Super Smash Brothers is going to be online. Everyone liked that game now it's online. Nintendo's abandoning the "no online" thing. They're making a Nintendo Wi-Fi system. Backwards Compatability to the max. Nintendo is always gonna be around. I personally think that all the companies should just join together. That would make it possible so that no matter what system you bought everyone would get money.

Thats because its cheaper, people usually have systems 1 for 1 home.

Factor in the cd's bought to be playe on playstation, the Dvd's, the many, many games, and some online play, and you are talking about a more successful system.

Nintendo will have Mario, Zelda, Metroid, and hopefully a new Super Smash Bros game for the Revolution plus Sonic games.

Yea, thats the same old though, which is good and bad.

Plus the Revolution is suppose to change the way we play games...don't know what that means but it's suppose to give you a totally new way to play games like the DS with it's touchscreen.

All systems change the way we play games, in some way or another, but I wouldn't get the Revolution, it would be only for nostalgia.

Not really. First peron shooters and RTS hasn't changed too much besides graphics and they added stuff to it. The Revolution is said to completely change video games.

Nintendo won't quit making systems. What will happen to:
Zelda
Mario
Metroid
and so many other great games we love like Star Fox?

How did the XBOX, Gamecube and PS2 changed the way we played games?

Whoever made this poll; Shame on you! 😒
You didn't include ANY of the upcoming handheld consoles, namely the PSP and Nintendo DS.
I'll stick with my PS2, and buy a DS, because the graphics look sublime and the dual touch-screen looks superlative. 🤘 👆 👆

Consoles not handhelds. It says, 'Battle of the Next-Generation Consoles' and PSP and DS are already out.

They introduced better games, new ideas and some concepts.

Of course it was nothing to brag of, and PS2 did have backwards capabiltiy, Gamecube had small discs, and xbox, uhhhhhh....

But it wasnt the actually console that did it.

All that is credited to developers, so it would be much better to say that the developers have developed those during the current generation.

Yes, backward compatibility would be a good one.

Of course it was the developers, but we play the GAMES,see?

Yes,
But my point is that,
Those ideas, concepts would of worked on anything, no matter whay console it is.
When people think what Halo did in terms of gameplay, did they think that it was the XBOX who brought those ideas out?
No, they think about Bungie or the actually game.

Well lets go with backwards compatibility.

IMO halo didnt' do too much innovation, mostly polish.

Some consoles gave developers ideas, like DVD's CD;s blah blah, its all a new concept(at its time), and still used.
