Football (Soccer)

The game wasn't broadcast here on a normal channel... Couldn't see it

Ah. Baía defended a ball and Mida stepped on his knee. Clearly on purpose. He had hit another player before but I cant remember who or what he did exactly.

Mido is a very impulsive and sometimes bad-tempered player...That's why he left Ajax...

Sounds like Costinha 😖 and Jorge Costa (both from Porto)
I think Costinha played in Monaco, right?!😑

Right... He was known as 'Da Costa' there...

Yeh thats his name. Costinha is basically little Costa 😄

Did he change the name on his shirt because Da Costa is a widely-spread name ? 😕

man i wish I could GET soccer on my tv at home. We have about ZERO channels that broadcast any games. I don't wanna have to get satellite for games, but may have to...sucks.

the most soccer I got to watch in the last 6 months was the women's world cup tournament. it was pretty good, but I wanna see some good rivalries play!!

But several very good European teams went to the US last summer...Weren't the games broadcast ???

if they were they sure as hell weren't advertised....I'm telling you they hate soccer over here...its pretty pathetic when its the world's largest sport.

Well thats what ppl call him. I've always known him has Costinha. It was his name on the national team waaaaay before he left Monaco. Plus there already a Costa in that team.

I was told that soccer isn't considered as virile enough in the US (compared to Football,...) and that was why many girls played soccer...

lol Thou its funny when you compere American Football to Ragby (sp) 🙄

What do you mean ?😕

yeah not sure what you mean either. football is a ripoff of rugby (a much tougher sport).

girls soccer got big in the 1980's due to the Title IX law that went into effect. This law made it so H.S. and college sports had to have an equal amount of sports for each sex.

Lots of girls when I was younger played on the boys teams because there was no girls league. After the law change girls soccer got huge.

here's one thing to think about: here are the most popular sports in america (mostly)

Sports - MEN:
Football
Basketball
Baseball
Hockey
Nascar
Indy cars

Sports - Women:
Softball
Volleyball
Soccer
basketball

there are a lot more sports that american males play that are considered "better" than soccer.

Soccer for women is pretty big, and an easy choice. Most other countries dont have big football, basketball, baseball etc for men or women, so soccer is a much larger portion.

Thats what I mean. Most americans say they dont like football (soccer) because they like though sports, like American football, yet they play with all those protections 🙄
But off-topic so we better get back to football (soccer)

ahh i see. you have a point.

True, who's gonna win the CL this year I'm betting on Juve

So am I (or Real again 😬 )

Nah, not Juve 😖
Real.
