well give us a year and Huddlestone will be just as good as Carrick, and few years later, even better than him.

we have enough decent midfielders to not worry too much about Carricks exit, and 18.6m gives us enough money to buy a brilliant right back, the only position that needs significant bolstering.

and anyway 18.6m and Carrick is injured now.

you hope huddlestone will be better. thing is, spurs dont want someone who might be better than carrick in a few years, they need someone in the team now who is better than carrick. theres no one at that time. they need to splash out on a centre midfielder and a left winger possibly. then they can mount a serious challange for the title

its not about hoping, bar some crazy anti-miracle... Huddlestone WILL develop into a better player than Carrick is atm.

Zokora, Jenas, Ghaly, Tainio, Davids (ergh), Huddlestone.. we dont need another central midfielder, possibly need a left winger, but then we did fine without one last season. If Zokora adapts to premiership straight away, he'll be just as good as Carrick, Ghaly seems promising as well from what i saw in reserves last season (he was injured most of season) and against Inter... Jenas is unreliable but decent when he tries... Tainio is good when he plays but always gets injured... and Davids isnt good enough for the premiership.

Why don't Spurs sign Owen Hargreaves?? That'd solve the little conundrum of who can fill Carrick's boots, and I bet they'll get him for alot cheaper than what they sold Carrick for
