He's not brown, he's orange.

😕

Ooooooh i'm a huge Lescott fan, but i'm not sure if he's better than Dawson

Michael Dawson impressed me alot last season, and he's younger than Lescott too, which bodes well for further development, it remains to be seen whether Lescott can hack the Premiership, time shall surely tell

i think lescott can be better. we'll see this season

No, he can't. No, we won't.

well just wanna ask onething hws ballack playing for chelsie

you've never seen him play in the premiership... everyone's seen Dawson play in the premiership... and play well.

Dawson is currently proven at the top level of english football, so he got picked.

dawson is a great defender and i think lescott has the ability to become just as good if not better

Yeah, I knew it; he's shit.

So what'd you guys think of McClaren's first game in charge?

he's purposefully tried to pinpoint and fix all the problems Sven had... off-the-ball movement, Lampard-Gerrard-compatability issue for instance.

he's also tried to stop the ball being passed along the backline by allowing Terry and Ferdinand to individually venture into midfield... however England will always ALWAYS do that, for some reason.

Nepotism on McClaren's part by playing Downing and Richardson imo... if you're going to play 1 winger atm it HAS to be Lennon, noone else comes close, Downing has poor delivery and WrightPhillips isnt a team regular atm.

England also lost their flow in the second half...

I havent seen the 2nd half yet (i was already late for work watching the 1st) but the thing the struck me most was the movement going forward. Under Sven when Crouch was upfront it was the long ball or nothing, this time i cant remember seeing 1 aimless long ball it was all through the midfield. Great to see players like Gerrard and Lampard able to get forward and assert themselves. Defoe looked sharp to, which is great news for Spurs. I would have like to see Lennon in the first 11 but i dont mind him being fresh for Bolton at the weekend.
Hargreaves really seems to relish that holding role, he was really getting stuck in. Its been a while since we've had a terrier like that in midfield.
Hopefully this is the start of a positive looking England side, i dont mind if they dont win every game as long as they put forth the effort and play good attacking football.

I agree. Germany showed during the World Cup that you will gain respect and admiration if you stay true to the aesthetics of the beautiful game. Despite each winning a trophy, Greece and Italy are quickly forgotten because they didn't.

How are Italy 'quickly forgotten'?

Well, they were over-shadowed by a member of the losing team giving someone a head-butt...Hardly denotes them as having any astounding qualities.

The final in Italia 90 was marred by Klinsmann's diving, yet we still remember that Germany won...
