The term soccer originates from England. it is derived from the word 'association' (as the sport was know as Association Football) where the letters 'socia' in that word somehow changed to 'soccer'

So, World Cup bets?

Still too far away to call a winner methinks.

Though if I had to, I would say Brazil. Not shocking I know.

Unless Scotland suddenly become good, beat Italy home and away, scrape into a play-off and somehow win it, get a kind draw in the finals, scrape through on goal diff, stagger to the final where we beat England thanks to a dodgy, deflected, suspiciously offside looking goal in the 4th of 3 added minutes of stoppage time.

even though cocu and bergkamp will be retired (bergkamp is already), i do agree, they can win it... though they always have too much in-fighting...

brazil are still kings though... ronaldinho... adriano, baptista (sp?), though their defence is incredibly suspect...

Yeah that's always the downfall of Brazil.

It happened against England, they let in a goal early due to defense malfunctions. It's alot better this time though, seemed reasonably better against Chile.

havent seen much of brazil bar what their players are up to in europe... ronaldinho's imo the best player at the moment... hopefull he'll still be top class next year...
