The Cycle Of Life....

Started by Darth Revan2 pages

Near death can be explained by science, it's just that when a person's heart stops beating, they don't die immediately. Their brain and vital organs still work, they just stop until something restarts them...

I was thinking more along the lines of the origin of life. Like how did the first form of life come to existence. Isn't it pretty much a scientific law that you can't make living matter out of non-living matter?

Science can't explaine anything, there are far more theorys that are considerd "Occult" than scientific ones, science just trys to debunk everthing we believe in, so they can control us. Think of this they tell you for example carrots are healthy, but how do you know? they just tell you this (that was an example by the way so don't tell me why carrots are good for you because I am only making a point)

JM< That's true. And I just wonder why it had to be made that way, you know. We have a set date. Like what exact day and time we are born, and die.

Afro< True..We may never know any of those "mysteries" either...yet we may.

That's what I always thought. Can't get life from non-life..A lifeless dead rock will always be a dead rock..

Yeah but rocks arent dead or alive. They can be newer/younger rocks or they could be those old precambrian rocks or whatever you call them. They ARE lifeless, but they arent dead!

Yes they are. One of the definitions of dead is "Not having the capacity to live; inanimate or inert." That would mean rocks are technically dead. Everything can be classified as either living or dead.

Technical....Technical I tell ya 😛

Well...in that case...What about my computer?....

What about it?

Who knows what life is?
Why do we have a designated number of years we're on earth?
How come humans can live up to a hundred years but a small bug or rodent or animal only lives for a few?
Nobody knows....Thats why I started this thread, because I wanted to hear your opinions and questions and statements..

Life literally means living, our time on Earth. Otherwise, the meaning differs.

We don't have a designated number of years. We have a lifespan, just like any animal.

Because, to put it bluntly, we're not as vulnerable and we're smarter.

Afro< You said anything could be classified as living or dead...

Actually, I think a group of scientists recently discovered that protein molecules can be created from basically nothing... Which is the first step in life coming from a ball of molten rock.

"Dead" in the scientific sense is something that was once living, but isn't any longer. Rocks are non-living; leather is dead.

And Filth... No offense pal, but that was really a pretty stupid statement. The fact that you don't believe anything scientists say doesn't mean that science can't explain anything. The idea of a scientific theory is that anybody with the right tools/resources can go out and find proof of the theory, or replicate the theory through experimentation. So yeah, you COULD take a carrot and figure out its molecular structure for yourself, but as a non member of the scientific community most people choose to take scientists' word on things like that. There are certain things that are pointless to debate. For example, you could claim that the sun revolves around the earth, but it would be pointless as you couldn't prove it.

Science only debunks stupid religious/occult crap like the sun revolving around the earth, witchcraft, and walking under ladders being bad luck. Dammit!! Now they have control of me!!! *runs away*

Oh. Why would your computer be considered alive? It's a machine, just because it's functioning doesn't mean it's living.

They have theories about how life can come from no life, but nothing has been proven. Until they can successfully test their hypothesis and recreate what they propose happen, it's still a mystery.

That's one of the definitions, but that only applies when you're referring to organisms. Anything that is inanimate is technically dead, seeing that dead and lifeless are basically synonymous.

But dead and non-living aren't synonomous... 😕

What I really meant about the protein molecules was that I'd heard somewhere that some scientists had actually created said scenario in a lab. Though I don't know if it's true.

They could be, depends one the way you are using the word. When people hear the word dead they always think of deceased, but really anything that doesn't have the capacity for life is considered dead as well. People just don't usually use it that way cause it sounds weird.

I haven't heard anything about them making protein molecules, could be true. All I know is that so far they can't create life from non living material. In fact, from what I recall that's a scientific law.

I doubt it's a law, probably a theory, since there's really no way to prove the assertion that they can't... Any more than you could prove they can.

I know afro. Im not that stupid. I know its a machine but the thing is, you said anything could classified as alive or dead. The computer isnt alive and it isnt dead either........

Yes it is. It's inanimate and therefore according to the English dictionary, it is dead. If you wanna see:

dead:

Adjective
Inflected forms: dead·er, dead·est 1. Having lost life; no longer alive. 2. Marked for certain death; doomed: was marked as a dead man by the assassin. 3. a. Having the physical appearance of death: a dead pallor. b. Lacking feeling or sensitivity; numb or unresponsive: Passersby were dead to our pleas for help. c. Weary and worn-out; exhausted. 4. a. Not having the capacity to live; inanimate or inert.

There's a lot more after that, I just copied up to the part I needed.

If you look at it we are just like a computer , just more advanced. How long does it take before something gains conceincenes. I of course don't think computers have a conceince now, but i do think that in the long run they will eventually.
Once you destroy a functioning system it ends. The brain is no different once you have destroyed it, why would conceincenes have to continue. Are thoughts are nothing but an electrical flow from memory bank to memory bank once this process has stoped, why would the process of reincarnation have to acure? Better yet how? And why would god have a test of faith? He would be testing his on creation. I think when we die thats the end of use. But over a long period of time, and most likely not even on this earth. life will evolve to being able to pass down memories throu genetics. To the point that its like life never even dies. If you ask me the reason for why the bible was written was to keep things in order. Because i agree without the bible the world would suck. People would be killing others left and right, if no one believed in god. And the human race would end fast if not all life as we know it. IGNORANCE TO THIS THEORY IS BLISS!
