I think it blows that they are basing a show around an already known outcome. The meat of the show is going to have to revolve around the rebels. What ever jedi is in the show will have a fate that we already know. That was cool for a movie, but as a show...how attached to the story and characters can you become, when you know the outcome of all the characters in the story?
Things the show needs
1.Han and Chewie meeting and Hans adventures. It might not suck TOO bad if they have someone else play him.
2.Boba Fett
3.More of Darth Vaders conquests
4. What happened to Luke/Leia.
There a lot of stories coming from the four listed.
But also think their should be a series before TPM

I dont know how true any of this is aside from the fact that Lucas has confirmed a live action show along with a 3-d computer animated show.
the live action show will be an hour in length. Lucas is said to direct the first season. the seasons will be written and shot all at once. The show will focus around the era between episode 3 and 4. lucas films plans production in about a year.
