Dont know why he and Tarful are seperate from others, maybe because Chewie is so bad ass. They are under attack from the droid army.

And the troopers dont need complex armor as they are no longer in a time of war and are more like police officers than soldiers.

Didn't it say "It is a time of Civil War" at the beginning of ep. IV? Or maybe it was V I don't know.

In an early version of the script, a 10 year old Han was supposed to appear and aid Yoda somehow. I always figured we'd see Chewie and the other wookies being taken into Imperial Slavery..
