ok......ive been out long enough....heres one: (first one ever)
What is Love?
You don’t know it,
but some nights
I sit on a hill
under a blanket of twinkling stars
and I wonder:
What is love?
Can it be tested?
Can it be measured?
Can it be defined with words
other than “love” itself?
What is love?
Is it an emotion,
where your heart beats faster
and you want virtually no space
between you and that special someone
and when you’re together
time and space seem to stop
and the cosmos explode with a multicolored hue?
Or is it a thought,
where you catch yourself daily
thinking of that person?
Is it where your thoughts
consume you in a shock of sensations
and you have that special moment
when you were together
tucked away in your heart?
So what is love?
It’s a lot of things.
Some known
and some unknown,
but the question is:
will you let me in your heart?
ok here goes.....a darker theme than most but here it is
In the Dark
The darkness is overwhelming
taking control,
comforting with its peace.
The darkness within has grown
yet not fully manifested.
My soul is now
neither white nor black
but the darker part of gray.
I stay in the darkness
because the world has
left me alone
and it soothes me.
Watching from the darkness
forever in darkness I stand.
I am but a man
and yet I stand,
not against the light
though light darkness does most fear.
I stand for nothing
and no one.
Though I stand,
I stand alone
where no one can see me.
I wear a mask
in hopes that if light ever comes
no one will know me.
With this mask
I know not who I am.
I am anyone who you want me to be.
The eyes are the windows of the soul,
yet I cover them
with the mask
letting no one know my own soul.
If you find me
I will be not me
but whoever you want me to be,
for the mask reflects
whatever you wish me to be...
I stand alone against no one,
hiding from everyone,
In the darkness I stand...
eternally alone.
must....post....more.....here.....goes.....
a poem I wrote for Mothers Day:
Love of a Mother
I call you Love
For you are a mother
The initiator of emotions,
The person that creates close bonds,
The one people rely on,
To pull them through life’s obstacles.
From the elderly lady with grown child
To the young woman with newborn babe
The love of a mother surpasses all.
Love can be shown,
In so many ways,
A grin, A glance, A word.
A mother does all these
With protecting hands
And working feet
You have shown a
Love that can
Fill the emptiness of space.
When you wanted a time of
Momentary grace
I gave you none
Yet when I wanted the same
You gave me some
As I take a breath that fills my
Lungs with the space between
Two moons
I remember....
You sang me songs to put me to bed
Then prayed with me to put me to sleep, again.
With oceans, swirling, filled with your love
I thank God for the person He gave me as Mother...
This boy with many laments has no regrets
When it comes to his Mother
Truly you area guardian angel, in disguise.
Mother, loved and cared for you will always be
Because you first loved me.
