Trade Federation

Are they talked about in any books? We know nothing about them. Do you think they will be in EP2?

I don't know anything about them but I'm guessing that they won't be in EP2. It seems like groups who try to pull that sort of stunt (historically) and fail tend to fall out of favor and become insignificant. And I would think that Rune Haako and Nute Gunray would be imprisoned anyway.

in the original by GL, in the prologue, it says something vague like, "palpatine rose to power on the support of the fringes of trade and corrupt commerce." that's about it as far as i know.

The Trade Federation was "working" for Darth Sidious/Palpatine. Therefore in a way the Nemodians were part of The Empire. After the Nemodian invasion failed, their war machine was confiscated by Darth Sidious/Palpatine. Of course we all know that Darth Sidious/Palpatine will make use of his new weapons in his plans of expanding his Empire.

If the whole Glaxy is at war then people will have to fight alongside each other even if the don't get along. Look at the British and the French. Hundreds of years of conflict then they had to be on the same side to fight the Nazi's and now they are arguing again. It could happen.

I just meant politicaly. When Britain wanted to join the Eurpean Union years ago France were the only country to say no. Their has been things like this going on for a while between the two countries. I still think the trade fedaration could be good in the next film. XC says they are cowards so why would they fight for Palpatine?
