"they shouldn't pose any threat" says Takuan to Galder
"they are often as stupid as they are ugly"

he then moves to engage in conversation.
"greetings. we are here with business plans."

* Xavier waits to see what Gallader does*

In what order are we landing?

I thought we were all landing at the same time.

Yup.

Gallador stands besides Takuan, trying to appear a bit shaken and frustrated.

"Yes, we need spare parts for major repairs. I hope Newhaven will be enough for our needs."

"Yes sir," says one of the droids. "May I see your papers please?"

"It is unfortunate, but we lost our papers. We were attacked by those pirate scum"- Gallador seems to be really outraged when he mentions pirates -"and we didn`t have time to take anything but our most crucial posessions. We lost much more than papers." -Gallador trembles( most likely remembering the victims of attack)

Ush, movies imply that Star Wars robots are sophisticated enough to be able to perceive and understand human emotions at basic level( they even know when patient dies of a broken heart), so a bit of acting is not out of place, I assume.

"Greetings...droid," Rand greets, Tanic at his side. "We are here seeking merchandise."

Xavier waits with Trax on board his ship until the others say everything is clear.

"Trippy trees," Galder comments, as Takuan does his thing.

Absolutely, for the most part treat the droids just as Humans- if they are designed to work with Humans they will be able to understand well enough. And you being a great liar suits the bill very well.

Takuan is also thinking "Oh bugger, Droids" when it comes to the Mind Trick back-up. That said, droids don't run this planet so there must be a supervisor somewhere.

"Oh dear," says the droid. "That does sound most unfortunate. I am afraid that involves a certain amount of legal complication, of course, because we need to fully establish your personal details and reason for visit before allowing you out of the starport. All this legalese! I of course am a mere droid and just a functionary in such matters."

Tanic's also looking around.
"Get the right clothes, you could be invisible," he replies to Galder.

(Have any of the Brits seen that Education advert with the guy who hides in the display by painting his face?)

"Of course, we are ready to follow all necessary procedures."

Ush, I assume that with combined knowledge of our characters we have come with s suitable place where a small private mining base on asteroid field could be located? Place not too close to Newhaven, but close enough so it could be a likely hyperspace jump.

Savoir-Faire roll... easy pass. Yup, you have a good place to say it is from, no problems there.

"Very well then, sirs," says the droid. "There will be a certain amount of interveiws and form filling, I am afraid."

"How long will it take, approximately? You surely understand that we are" -a long pause and Gallador gives a sorrowful expression- "tired".

( Gallador is supposed to have lost his wife, by the way. And we can tell that we were attacked by Geheron`s clan- were they called Red Vipers?)

Scarlet, and sure, that tracks fine!

"Oh, I am afraid administration can be a little lengthy," says the droid, "but depending on whether they are satisified with the reason for your visit, I am sure a temporary visa can be issued within hours."

"This sounds good, bring us before your superiors then"

"Certainly," he says. turning around. "I'll just call Immigration."

Wow, you guys ploughed headlong into that one!

People arrive at port with no papers- who would sort that out??
