Superman Original Cartoons!

The other day at a car boot sale, I found a video of the original 1940's Superman Cartoons.

Wow!

The quality of the animation and sound is fantastic!

And even though there's only about 7 episodes, you can see the way he evolves from the original concept, to being a bit closer to what he is today.

He starts off in the first opening credits:

Faster than a speeding bullet

More powerful than a locomotive

Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound

And by the end of the series:

Faster than a bolt of lightning

Stronger than the pounding surf

More powerful than the mightiest hurricane

Able to soar higher than any aircraft!

These cartoons are awesome!

Those cartoons are awesome. I saw them multiple times, and you're absolutely right. They're living breathing proof against any that would accuse Superman of being incredibly weak back then and overpowered now, that there wasn't a constant rise in power. 👆
