OK this might seem like a stupid question but countdown, death of the new gods, and final crisis all seem to have different stories about how the new gods fell and how darkseid came to power. which is the correct story, and which story was retconned?

Final Crisis is the final word on it all. the other two are sort of in limbo.

oddly enough, the 'trilogy' you mentioned all seem to tie-in to one another [sorta kinda]... you just have to piece certain things together for it to start making sense.

first off, lets start with a "final crisis prologue/synopsis", written by grant himself:

here, grant tells us that the source being is composed of both good and evil, life and anti-life, yin and yang, etc. he also talks about the death of all new gods, then goes on to mention the war in heaven/subsequent fall of darkseid... which were all shown, and/or transpired during, "DotNG" [so that series must be somewhat canonical.]

----

that said, after darkseid obtains the power of all new gods and begins to battle the source being during "DotNG", he [the SB] plays his trump card [ie. orion.] after darkseid and orion duke it out for a while, darkseid flees and supes is told that orion will be dispatched to "deal with darkseid":

----

backtrack to "countdown", and orion mysteriously boom tubes in, and battles darkseid for the final time... the battle ends with orion ripping darkseid's 'heart' out:

though neither of them were amped during the above battle [as they were in "DotNG"], it's like i said before - you have to piece certain parts of these happenings together for the big picture to make sense.

----

the above instance also goes hand in hand with darkseid saying, "there is a black hole where my heart should be":

"FC" #7.

----

and ripping his 'heart' out is how orion must have "wounded darkseid beyond repair", and caused him to "fall":

as that is the only way to kill a new god.

----

after the battle between them in "countdown", we see a wounded orion [still in the city where he and darkseid battled], staggering away:

----

fast forward to "FC", and where does turpin find a dying orion?:

[hint]in a city[/hint]

----

imo, after darkseid was reincarnated during "seven soldiers/FC" he wanted to make sure, without a doubt, that orion was killed and not just wounded *enter him shooting the radion bullet backwards in time*

sorry about the lengthy response, but yours is a question i've seen asked several times, so i wanted to take some time to thoroughly answer it.

With Marvel 2099 when comes to the mutants what did they do after they put them in the contaiment facilities ?

how powerful are Watchers, are they as strong as Celestials?

Not really, but close. I remember that the Prime Watcher (I think that was his name, something like that, he was the leader of the Watchers) required Exitar to gather energy for hundreds of years to beat.

so does anyone else think the marquis of death's new apprentice is really doom?

Indirectly he's responsible for the death of his son Harry and he attempted to kill a Reality warping being known as Judas Traveller. He also inspired a psychologist called Bart Hamilton to assume the Green Goblin identity. Whilst posing as GG, Hamilton died.

Pretty much anyone who died as a result of the clone saga can thank Osborn who was the mastermind behind it all. Also I think there may have been some occasions where random bystanders have been killed by Osborn in older issues.

And that's not counting any recent stuff. This is all pre-Civil War. Post Civil War he blew up Thunderbolts mountain killing lots of guards and nearly killed Swordsman. There's also tons of other stuff I can't remember....

Cheers.Regarding his Thunderbolts mountain episode I should have specified I meant civilian/innocent bystander type characters.

Thanks anyway. 🙂

Which comic and issue# does Wolverine cut off Matsuo's hand in?

WOlveirne # 37 Origins & Endings it by Daniel way I believe

Hey no problem. If you're talking in terms of innocent bystanders then that list would be reduced to.....

Then how come it's referenced in WolverineV2 #57, the issue where Mariko is killed?

That was Silver Samurai in O&E, not Matsuo.

I dunno when Matsuo lost his hand, sorry.

Think it's around speed of sound or something.

I got a question about a comic book, I think Whirly told me of. I can only remember the basic plot really, it was about an alien attack on earth and scientists finding some sort of serum that gives a small percentage of humans superpowers but they die because of it after a while (like roughly a year or so) and it was apparently about them fighting back against the aliens for earth. Dies anyone by chance know that comic?

Has it been confirmed what the source of Mxy's power is? I know some have speculated it's magic and others have said it's 5D tech. I also remember hearing it was stated on panel that it was 5D tech.

Is this true?

Here is a question! Are all Green Lantern Rings the same?

All normal rings are. The Alpha Lanterns are enhanced with manhunter tech and have internalized rings in addition to the ones on their hands. Ion doesn't count since it's an embodiment. And the Green Lantern Corpse uses pills that emit a purple light that works as a GL ring for a short time.

Other than that? The rings are the same, it's the wielders who make the difference.
