I was born in Charlotte, raised in Mooresville. I lived in Raleigh most of my life, with a stint in Richmond, VA for a few years. I left Raleigh in 1998, after attending Wake Tech to go to CSB, the Carolina School of Broadcasting in Charlotte, where I graduated a year later and became an "On Air Personality" for Jennings Corp. "Traffic Patrol". I moonlighted as an overnight board operator at "New Country" WKIX 96.9/101.1 until I dropped everything and moved to Minnesota. From early 2002 to late 2004, I lived in Mooresville again.

"On Air Personality"? so you were a DJ?and what do you do now for a living?
Ever been to Wilmington?
Do you think you will ever move back to the coast?
I reported local traffic for RDU for a couple of stations, I cut a few radio promos, so not a full fledged DJ, but close. I was basically a station manager at WKIX. I literally ran the whole place overnight.
Work wise, I'm self employed. eBay merchant,
junkyard_junkies, where I sell auto parts. As you can see, not greasy tires and parts like that, mainly electronics. Alison and I go to junkyards all over, get dirty, and buy parts like that for cheap, clean them up, test them, refurbish them, and then sell them.
I also have another side business slash hobby on eBay, user name DischeadDVD, where I sell DVD's to fund my collection/habit. Usually sell harder to find, rare, and OOP/out of print stuff, but ocassionally newer, used movies. My purchases are usually covered by the profits I make.
I HAVE been to Wilmington a few times, beach trips of course. My brother goes to school there, well, Cape Fear Community College, transferring to UNC-W to study law.
I ppppprobably won't move back to the East Coast just because of the heat..and the people. Atleast those in Mooresville, just gear heads.

Serious question from a cinephile to another serious cinephile:Why have you purchased so many mediocre movies to add to your collection?
Mediocre is personally subjective. Some claim that their own feces, smeared on canvas, could rival the works of Rembrandt. Some may also agree. It's all in how you appreciate the piece, not considering what others think of your view, no matter how bad the film. Isn't that what being a cinephile's all aboot? Individualistic appreciation of the art? Being in agreement is just a rare bonus.

I appreciate that, but some of the DVDs in your collection are just dull:
antitrust, blast from the past, a civil action, the client, deep impact, deep penetration, domestic disturbance, enemy mine, enough, more please, ok thats it, the family man, freaky friday, twisted tuesday, melonballs monday, the glass house, josie and her hairy pussy, mean girls, etc, etc...
Are these ^ really some of your favorite movies?
All the aforementioned save "Enemy Mine", first true exposure to Sci Fi, and "Josie", sad but true satire of pop music/marketing, are technically property of my girlfriend, in fact. Wasn't the reoccuring "girl power" theme not a dead give away?
Trust me, I prune the library every once in a while if I'm not happy as to how it's shaping up.

Explanation accepted. I wasn't too perturbed by Enemy Mine, but Josie is a bit weird.
