Okay, then do find out what headline FOX News had emblazzoned across the bottom of their screen when the battle for Iraq was happening. I'm sure it was something like: JESUS' WAR FOR CHRISTIAN SUPERIORITY RAGES ON THE FIELDS OF HEATHEN IRAQ

I know this is off topic but does anyone have T9 messaging. My girlfriend told me to get it but I don't even know what it is.
How weird. That's the second random T9 mention.
I think Lana summed it up.
There is definitely an influence imparted by the media, hence the obscene advertising budgets of huge companies.
However, it has become an easy explanation for the actions of people that aren't willing to bear responsibility for their choices.
Good topic though. It's a massive subject, and I doubt it will be covered very well after looking over what has been written up until now.
i actually posted this in the wrong thread.

GDF:

OTF:

The key is the status of the eyes for the smilies at the table.
Okay, I'm done.
I know it's Off-Topic, but I found the Off-Topic Forum, where this post belongs.
because no one wants to blame the parents for not parenting.
aka cookie monster isnt allowed to eat cookies anymore. why? because he causes childhood obesity, so now he has to eat healthy food.
parents just sit their kids down in front of the tv all day, and thats the end of it. they dont want to do their job, and they dont want to admit its their fault, so they point the finger at everyone else

All the time I hear people defend movies and music and say thatThere have been many arguments as to whether movies, tv and music influence the decisions and actions that youths take in North America. (I am sure this debate goes on across the pond, but I have no experience of that so I can't comment about it.)
I find it amusing when people say that these media influences have absolutely no role in how kids act. "It only influences children who were more inclined to act that way anyhow" is a common response.
But something interesting happened to me the other day. It was my folks 45th anniversary, so I thought I'd go get them a nice bottle of wine that they could both enjoy together. I walked into the store, asked for the wine expert and told him to please give me the lowdown as to which wine was not only worth the money that I was willing to spend, but also which wine was most appropriate to the situation.
In our discussion of fine wines, I asked if the movie Sideways had any influence over wine sales. The guy laughed and told me that he can't keep california wines in stock now, that everyone drinks pinot, and that they can't move merlot because of the one scene in that movie. So here we had adults whose buying decisions and preferences were dictated by a movie.
Why do people find it so difficult to believe that the same thing isn't happening with youths?
If you're too much of an impressionable idiot to watch Sideways, then don't.
