Do you think that Sparrow should have assissted Kiera Knightley with using the bullet and then died of thirst himself when stranded on the island? It may be slightly dishonourable that he was trying to put it off.

... maybe he did have a plan. i mean even though the rum runners had 'long been out of business' he might have had some other idea for getting them off the island which wouldn't have meant they had to kill each other - even though (as he says) it will by then be too late to save Will.

But, if he didn't then maybe yes he should have been the gentlemen, shot the lady adn starved to death himself!!

The dying of thirst would be certain to happen first. Noone can live off rum and seawater!
