Bigger male marine iguanas defend thier territories very well against naturally smaller ones. The problem is is that all the females hang out by the big guys. Giving natural selection...you'd expect that the little guys would becommming less and less common, but they weren't. THe population was in balance.
What happens is, the little guis lay on the beach and masterbate on a rock etc, ejaculate into their cloacca (remember these are reptiles) and save the semen until the time is right. When a lovely lady iguana gets close, the run up to her (into the big iguana's territory), inseminate her, and run back out before the big guy finds out.
Its hilarious.

My wife and I were at the zoo a few years back... we had the distinct opportunity to observe some bats giving themselves oral stimulation. 🤨 No need to state that we do not visit that exhibit any more.
