It was Arnold Schwarzenegger that had ALL the input on who was casted in the film, the director, etc.

Schwarzenegger also could decide who worked with him. Arnie is not exactly renowned for his acting, or his film making know-how. And that a bit of an understatement.

Jonathan stated himself that it was his decision not to include Linda Hamilton. He says so in the director commentary.

well u 571 was not directed bad at all... he is talented.. but i just dont think he was good enough for t3
the screenplay was bad definately. but you have to admit the ending was well done, it showed the rise of the machines.. and also HOW john connor became the leader of the resistance.. or you can say how john connor started to become a leader. haven't you always wondered how on earth this kid became a leader.. even in t2 when he was this disfunctional kid always partying not caring about school and all. i think the ending was the thing that made me respect t3 to some extent. does any1else here agree?

The ending was definitly good, the problem was that the story that was told just didn't work with the ending. Huge, almost arbitrary action movie plus dramatic meaningful ending a good movie does not make.

Haha indeed, the corny one-liners didnt exactly lead up to the drama either.
