So what's the deal with the Episode II Plot?

Okay, I must be missing something big, but I don't see any reason why the whole thing about Padme trying to be killed has anything to do with the whole Star Wars Story.

Am I missing something really important here?

Why does any of it matter. It has nothing to do with the plot of the Prequel Trilogy. And who was trying to kill her anyway, and WHY?

It's so useless. What's the point. Someone please explain.

Perhaps it was a way to get Anakin and Obi separated.

as is hinted in the movie and explained in the novel:
Padme had to die in order to get the Trade Federation convinced to join the Separatists.

but they joined anyway, in spite of her not dying. and WHO wanted to kill her?

It wasn't Nute Gunray, he was working for somebody. Who was it?

Wasn't she the one trying to defeat military creating act in the senate... Had she succeeded, Palpatine would have had hard time commanding his nonexistent army.

Count Dooku ordered Jango Fett to kill her, Jango Fett failed, Jango fett ordered a changeling to kill her, she died because of Jango's dart.

It was just a big stupid plot in the worst Star Wars movie of them all, and that's about it really.

yup, probably Dooku's charisma 😉
they are greedy, they saw that joining the CIS would give them big credits, that's why they still jumped on it

no, it's clearly said that Nute was behind the assassination attempt, there is no discussion about it. It just played into the hand of Palpatine

How about, kill Padme, capture Shmi, kill Obi (ep III) and begin turning Anakin. It was all part of Sidious' plan.

it was big in the plot it caused anikin aka darth vader to become a sith

That is not what turned Anakin into a sith lord.

It was the fear of Padme dieing in childbirth not being assasinated.
