Here's a quick history lesson:

In 1435 the war started but in the US and in Russia, there were temperatures of -25°C, so they named it the cold war, both countries blamed France, they claimed the smelly cheese made the temperature drop...

They didn't attacked France though, they were afraid they would come home and smell bad.
But then, one glorious day (May 33, 1439) an American, named IC Warm invented the central heating. That way the temperature rose to a nice 20°C and they stopped the war...

They were The Soviet Union during WWII, they became communist after the revelutiuon in 1917, the Soviet constitution was made in 1918. They were led by Lenin who was succeded by Josef Stalin in 1924 and he got rid of all his opposer within the party, a real butcher. Now the Warsaw pact was formed after WWII to be an opposing factor to the west and their Nato.
