Because Yoda was given a choice of saving the lives of 2 Jedi about to be crushed or to keep fighting Dooku.

And to respond to the first post, have you ever considered the idea that given another time and another place may have had something to do with it? Any given day things could have turned out completely different. On another day, Anakin might have beaten Obi-Wan or Yoda might have beaten Sidious. It's called chance or luck of the draw. 🤣
