Battle Royal

in my opinion probably the best asian horror film even though i do enjoy versus(more of a horror/action/comedy). what does everyone else think of battle royal? whats your favorite asian horror film?

I don't like it. It was rubbish.

i really enjoyed it, but i didnt really think it is a horror. more of a action drama thriller.

I found it pleasingly disturbing! Nice drama, sick story, good fights and the kids fear just drips of the screen. Good Job!

Liked it, its just so sick all the way through... Like when some sort of tv presenter shows what the kids are gonna get for weapons, and she does it in this sick, funny, happy way... Just have to say that I laughed so much at that...🙂

Seen Battle Royale for the first time last night. The story was heaps good and the acting was fine, and the effects were pretty damn good.

Overall I give it 8/10, would of been 9/10 if there was english dubbing.

They should do a US remake of it.

The CGI blood was HORRIBLE at times, but that's really my only complaint.

Agreed the CGI blood was poor in it.. and it was poor in Battle Royale 2.

I don't know why but the Battle Royale movies bore me.. I have never been able to watch either one all the way though. I have tried but everytime I start watching them I end up turning them off... and I don't know why.

I don't know why films use cgi blood in the first place...

Last I saw it, and it was obviously fake, was in Kitano's "Zatoichi". "Land of the Dead" used it some as well, and with Nicotero as its special effects coordinator, I don't see why they needed to?

Among the best indeed! Based on the Manga (with the same name) this one is destine to be a classic. My only complain is GoGo dies too soon. 😉

A US remake would be stupid. The japanese should get back at the American Studios by doing a remake of Saw or some other lame horror flick.

Isn't Battle Royale film based on the novel, and were the Manga's based on the novel too?
