Cops will soon be replaced by automated answerring machines that give you an automated "crime reference number" everytime you are violated legally, emotionally or physically.
That's about as much as real cops do anyways.
Well, it seems that the amount of cops it "requires" to operate speed cameras, I wouldn't be surprised if the answer phone isn't already dealling out reference numbers for victims of burglary, identity fraud and bodily harm while the police tend to more important matters, such as penalising a motorist for doing 72MPH in a 70 MPH zone.
I swear, traffic cops, in particular, do my head in. If they puit half as much effort into REAL police work as they do when they're picking off tax-paying motorists, the country would be wonderful. Some cops look like they're on maneouvers, hiding in speeding "hot spots" (i.e unavoidable speed traps) with all the stealth of James Bond himself. They love to screw people over, and the government wants them to screw people over - otherwise we would have more warnings about cameras and less "surprises". Speed cameras have nothing to do with slowing down traffic (due to the fact they want to catch us out, rather than help slow us down with signs and warnings), they are anotehr way to screw motorists out of their hard-earned.
Of course I don't speak for all cops. I'd like to think that there is some decency left in the police force. But the majority of Britains cops can be summed up with one word:
Useless.
