I don't see Thor fighting Hulk with much success at this point without pulling out the most powerful attack he's ever done and he better do it before Hulk can get within arm reach of him otherwise Thor's a goner

Do you even know what PIS means? If anything, writing the story such that Thor is made to fight one armed and without the odinforce against Hulk and Thing was a diversion from the plot with no purpose other than to permanently establish regular Thor's superiority in h2h over hulk and thing in his final comic book showing.

If it's to the death, IMO, Hulk can't be killed by physical means. Which Hulk is this? Hulk comes back, even if he's scattered all over...
I think Thor can beat Hulk to KO 6-7/10, but to the death, Hulk 6-7/10. You have to think that in a "to the death" fight he'd go over Onslaught level, and farther than he's been taken in comics before.

It has already been proven that Hulk can be killed by physical means.
Hoarfen killed him and ate him.
Then Hela brought him back.
But, he was dead!
I also think that Minion/Death's Head killed him.
These are just off the top of my head.

Now Hulk pummeled full force by Thor while he swings Mjolnir surrounded by one or more of the above tricks, that's enough.
