Pronounciation of Anakin

Ok in the movies you hear it being pronounced Ah-nha-kin. But some pronouce it Annie-kin. When people refer to his short name they usually pronounce it Annie. But really his short name should be ANA. So Ani is not then the corect way to pronounce his short name....am I rigght? or just confused....

The name is Anakin Skywalker. That's how it's spelled. In the movies, i heard Padme call him "Ani", but we all know she's got a few screws loose so i ignore her. Now...n00bs that watch the movie and come over here forget that his name is ANAKIN and start making threads/posts about good ol':

Many people's nicknames aren't at all related to shortened versions of their real names. I think his mom just called him Ani and it stuck...period.
