NEW YORK (AP) - Grammy award winner Luther Vandross, whose deep, lush voice on such hits as "Here and Now" and "Any Love" sold more than 25 million albums while providing the romantic backdrop for millions of couples worldwide, died Friday. He was 54....

Shocking.

He's been sick for years. Poor fella, at least he's resting in peace.

I didnt even know he was sick... sad.

He had a shock like two years ago....Any ways he was a unique singer. He was pretty young to.(53) 🙁

🙁

Lame man.

ODB dead, Luther Vandross dead. Why aren't people like Justin Timberlake dying?

What is scarey is the amount of press someone like Timberlake or any of the pop tarts would recieve if tragedy befell tham, whereas Vandross gets just a footnote in the mainstream press.

That's exactly right.

If we're being technical, his death would be a plus. Vandross dying, while he was far passed his prime, is a sad thing.

it's still very sad that he died.. he was a good singer... 🙁

Indeed

I would just like to echo some of your points. I find it really sad and it makes me quite angry that this genius of a man (who I have seen in concert so many times) has had hardly any publicity/press since he died. It completely winds me up - there were not many people around with a voice as perfect as Luthers.

He was a R&B legend. When you think about what passes for R&B today you realise what we have lost.
