Interesting...maybe memories do exist forever after you've died...and if you believe in reincarnation then after every death, you'd remember all your memories from all your life times in that transition period...Maybe the part of us that is now living can't remember, but is still there...Some have said to be able to access them....Hmmmm.

Well, you can either suffer rebirth as a delusional human being (seeing the rope for a snake), or re-incarnated as an awakened being living in the Pure Land, Nirvana (recognising the rope for a rope and not thinking it's a snake).

Yes death does exsist. I believe a better question is what constitutes someone being dead. People who believe that the body ceasing to function is death. In that case it would take hundred of billions of years for the human body to truly be dead for it takes a long time for the elements of the body to be "non-exsistant". Others (like DC) say its when the soul leaves the body, in which case the time is unknown. Show me what makes someone dead, and I'll show you a dead person.

One day we will all know for sure.

When you die every cell in your body dies including brain cells and white blood cells and everything. Your body begins to return to the Earth like all things on this planet does.
