<<k, if i need to use Rikku's charry, she'll be posted in a blue glow...>>
He shook his head. "They shouldn't have been able to track me there so quickly... What the Hell... He lead the way down the side of a building and opened the window, allowing Asha to climb in first, just as the sun rose. They were safe for now, though the daylight would only keep them safe for a few hours. He climbed in after her, closing the window and grabbing a new shirt from his closet, one of many bearing the same exact design. He walked over to his chair, sitting down and lighting up.
Asha sat on the edge of the bed, still unsure what was going on. "So... now that the obvious threat has subsided for the time being, oh fearless leader... How many times have you tried to find me since Rika died?" Her gaze shifted around the room as she tried to spot something she'd seen before.
"Seven. Every time, I was a few days behind you when i stopped to tell you." He walked to his closet, removing a small box from it, the outside covered in ornate decorations and childlike drawings. "She left this for you, Ash. Said it was your birthright when you came of age, but she'd been protecting it until she could find you..."
She took the box, opening it and removing a small necklace from it, made of braided leather and several small metallic charms around the base of it. "Mom... made this... Right before the raids when Lucian killed our whole village..." She dropped it back into the box, her hands shaking from the memories... "Rika always said that since she was the oldest, it should be hers, and I got stuck with a small shred of fabric, but it decayed away years ago... I always thought she'd keep this for herself..."
Jacc shook his head. "She left it here when she went hunting you. Told me it was yours if you ever showed up..." He walked over, placing a hand on her shoulder. "You okay?"
"I will be in a minute. I just... can't believe that I'm the last of my family now... It's so unreal, you know?" She put the box and necklace down next to her on the bed, resting her chin on her knees as she wrapped her hands around her legs. "I spent the last fifteen years thinking I'd catch up with her later one, and now..." She stared off into space, lost in thought.
Jacc noticed her fade out for a while, and decided he'd be best off just letting her be for a bit.
<<guys, we'll probably both be offline most of the weekend, and even if I show, I'm unlikely to have time to post until Monday, so... our characters shall return then...>>
He shakes his head, having nearly fallen asleep staring into the blackness, reliving his old memories. "Well... It's not safe once night falls. They're vamps, so they'll be stronger once they wake, and the night will definitely be their calling card to hunt us. We'd be best off to gather some necessities and get the Hell out of Dodge while we're able. Gather some reinforcements, and maybe come back once we have more people on our side."
Gives him the 'Yeah right look,' " Yeah cause I just have sooo many friends. Here let me call a few up on my cell." Pretends to dial buttons on hand then puts hand up to her head, " Oh, hey Justin you free tonight?" Pauses and turns around, "Good. How about you and me go kick some vamp butt tonight." Pauses again, "Yeah, I'll call up Jess too, later." Looks back at Jacc, "Got anything else, oh, great inventer of the stupid plans ?"
"True that you have few alliances, oh short and singular one. But I have forged quite a few over the last few millennia. Several of whom owe us favours." He turned back to her, guns now holstered to his legs. "And who would love to wreak the revenge of our dear Rika's passing." He pulled on a duster, walking to the window, his hair streaming wildly in the breeze as it blew past. "So we going or what?"
"You think you're ready for the others to meet you? Just like that? You'll be needing some basic information, first. We're on our way to go meet Irvine Valentine. He trained me before I met them. He'll be teaching you the art of 'Shut up and pay attention to others to gain their trust'. Or something like that." He walked down the street, looking around for his car. "Where the Hell did I park that damned thing?"
She sighed and shook her head. "I have no idea. I loose count. But anyways the point is I'd gladly kill my 'kin' no matter how young or old they may be.... I haven't killed any humans and you’re starting to bother me with all these questions. Leave off or I’ll kill you right here and now. Originally I was going to use you as a distraction, but I can’t put up with your babbling for that long.”
