Prince Harry with a medal?

I was wastching the VE Day 60 rememberence and I noticed on Harry's Marine uniform a medal. He has only been a member of the Marines for around 3 months... Since when shhould the royal's get medals for doing nothing?

probably the armed forces medal...given to everyone who completes a fixed time in any of the armed services

not sure....used to be 16 weeks if i remember right...might have changed with the intrduction of the general service medal...
