so, the first time he says he's not a fighter, but the next time he seems most eager to kick some butt... but they are keepers of the peace!!!

a bit contradictory from mace there, yes..don't know why.

ok, you can think that he gets energised before the battle, but then... he is supposed to be 100% good, getting overconfident is a weakness, not to be made by a Jedi Master of his kind!

I see no contradiction. Just because the Jedi are not soliders does not mean that Windu does not have a very good appreciating of how damn danerous a Jedi can be!

It's very cool, but don't expect to see very many other Jedi battling it out. It pretty much focuses on the main heroes. The others are just background material. Plo Koon is virtually non existent and I don't think we see Ki-Adi do anything. It is pretty obvious that Lucas cut the Plo Koon and Ki-Adi adventure on the Droid control ship. When the others are in the circle and the droids are ordered to cease fire, Ki-Adi and Plo Koon are escorted into the circle by droids. To me it looked like no more than 10 Jedi survived that battle, but it is never mentioned.

OB1 and Anakin must be quite powerful if they survived while some members of the Jedi Council didn't.

They are powerful. People underestimate Obi-Wan. He is as good as any Jedi except maybe Yoda. They had to be tired during the Dooku duel, which may be why they were so easily beaten by him.

Yeh, I guess he's just sitting back and watching the battle progress while they're in the fight of their lives.

I think the point made about Dooku is that he really IS a peerless swordfighter (small green guys excepted). It always pays to have a superior villain.

And yerss, a Jedi may still be worth a hundred droids, but they were outnumbered by far more than that!

Yeh, you can only block so many laser blasts at once. Plus you got to worry about Jango causing some havoc, at least till MAce finds him...

Probably not. Theory still holds, though; it wasn't lack of prowess that gave the Jedi trouble, it was the ambush and weight of numbers.
