Sega game i can't think of the title...

It was a game where you played a boy who had this white blob as his friend and you could make the blob into different objects in order to advance in the game. I remember that he could turn into a ladder so that the boy could climb to higher places. I can't think of this game for the life of me. Anyone have any ideas?

I didn't think Sega made it. It was called something stupid like "The boy and his blob". You feed the blob and make it do stuff right?
